The author lets us know from the very first page that this story is “mostly about idiots.” As you read through the novel, you may agree with this assessment. Investigating the crimes are a father-and-son police duo who realize that working together might not be the best idea. Into this mix, enters a confused bank robber who may or may not have taken everyone hostage. There is the young couple, Ro and Julia having their first child, but not their first argument Roger and Anna-Lena, a retired couple looking for property to flip and a way to save their marriage Zara, a wealthy banker who seems extremely disinterested in the whole process and Estelle who has plenty of time on her hands. We meet a cast of characters who reveal themselves as they examine floor space and potential DIY. However, not everyone present is interested in acquiring a new home. The day before New Year’s Eve, a group of people show up for an apartment open house. Things are definitely not as they seem in this Swedish comedy-mystery. Looking for your next read?
